What Do You Learned About Digital Marketing So Far?

What Do You Learned About Digital Marketing So Far?

Dear friends, It is quite an accomplishment for us to have reached this far in our lessons. You have been coping very well, and it would be justified if we took a moment to take some pride in it.

Before we proceed further with our lessons, we'll take a quick overview of what was covered previously. It is very important that you have the following working perfectly for you at this point in time.

  • Fluent with the terminology used in internet marketing, such as the meanings of affiliate, banner ads, click-through rate, etc. You would have come across these terms repeatedly till now and will see them more often in the future in the course of your work.
  • Opening a PayPal account. This should be working for you like an online bank, into which payments are made by the affiliate programs, when you generate clicks or sales for the ads that you have promoted.
  • You may or may not have joined other simple ways to earn online that we suggested during the lesson. Microworkers.com is one of the sites that pays you micro amounts for completing simple tasks. Fiverr.com is one place where you can sell your skills or offer your services for $5. ifreelance.com was also one of the suggestions where people can offer to do freelance work for the online employers. Similarly, there are tons of other websites that can be tried for quick and easy money to supplement your real income.
  • You should have your own blog or at least have gone through enough popular blogs online so that you can make one later. One of the reasons why you should have one is that it is free! People often use blogs to earn from them instead of paying for a website. Another reason is that it works great in connection with your website. Blogs are more at a personal level to maintain. Always put a link to your website on your blog and vice versa.
  • Choose a niche or a topic for your website. Selecting a web topic should all come down to one thing: passion. In order to be successful with your website, only that topic should be chosen that you enjoy. Whether you are creating your website to increase awareness, make money, or just for fun, it's a good idea to enjoy your topic.
  • Have a relevant domain name. As you must have seen, you do not have to be a company or an organization to register a domain name; any individual can get one. If you ever change your web host, your domain name would remain with you. To get good advertisers for your website, a domain name is very helpful. It gives the website an aura of respectability.
  • It is very important that you have made the right hosting choice. A wrong choice might lead to your site going down, which will then lead to a loss of revenue. A good hosting provider would be able to provide you with excellent customer support.
  • Getting the basics of HTML right. Learning HTML is probably the single most important thing you'll ever do if you want to create your own personal Web site. You must learn HTML to design good pages because it is the language on which websites on the Internet are based.
During the sessions, you must have often thought,
  • How will I promote the blog or website that I have made?
  • Can the power and reach of a medium like Facebook and Twitter be used to popularize my page?
  • What are the other effective methods I can use to get traffic on my website?
  • How can I generate revenue or monetize my website?
  • Can running paid campaigns on Google work wonders for my page?

If you have got most of these above-mentioned points covered, you have created a strong foundation for taking the bigger steps that we will cover in our following lessons.

These and a lot of other questions will be taken up in the following days. Hope you are ready for it.

See you soon,
